Ben - Cutaneous B-cell Lymphoma

Hello everyone,
I think this may be a good place to update everyone on whats going on with Ben.
He went in on June 5 to have a few moles removed. The doctor took off 2 and under one of them was a lump. He removed the lump (Ben said it looked like a little piece of cauliflower - lima bean size) and sent it in to pathology. When he went in a week later they told him everything looked fine so far but were still waiting for some results on the lump. He was about to leave yesterday (Mon.) morning to Wisconsin to start a new job, but was delayed due to a problem with his trailer. The doctors office called in the afternoon and said "it's malignent and we want you to come in." He made an appointment for 9 this morning. I called back and said we need more information than -you have cancer, come in later and we will tell you about it, so I was able to get the Dr. to call us after he got out of surgery. We were first afraid of skin cancer, but learned from him that it was a cutaneous (skin) type of lymphoma (B-Cell). We have researched it on the internet, and last night he was given a blessing by our branch president (Which was very reassuring). Today he saw the Dr. again and then went into the hospital to pre-register for a C T scan which he will have tomorrow at 2. After that he will see the Oncologist and they are planning to start treatment next week through a port. We want to thank everyone for their concern and prayers, fasting and support. We will keep you updated either through this (I'll try my best to keep it current), or through phone calls which we would be grateful if you will pass on the word to others since there are so many to call. A site called lymphomation.org has some good info as well as WebMD (scary though). The Dr. did tell us that cases of lymphomas are going up quite a bit in the US and that treatments are a lot better and more successful than even 5 years ago. After he meets with the Oncologist we will know more of what his treatments will consist of and what stage he is in.
