The Wisdom of a Child

I asked my Luke several times this morning to go into the bathroom and clean up the toothpaste he had wiped all over the countertop and drawer front. He wasn't listening, and I finally got mad and yelled at him, threatening him with a consequence. He started marching towards the bathroom, then suddenly stopped, turned around and looked at me and said "Mom, we don't talk that way!"
Wow! Talk about your own words coming back and slapping you in the face! What a smart little boy. I learned a good lesson today: Children deserve the same respect we expect them to give. What's good for the Goose is good for the Gander. How grateful I am to be a mom, to everyday not only teach my children, but learn from them also!
